Massage Magic? Massage Oil by KamaSutra (Soaring Spirit scent)

I first encountered products by KamaSutra in a Pagan bookstore in LA. Their selection was mostly lubricants and body dust, but I was intrigued. What the heck was a store like that doing with a random table of sensual merchandise? I mean, there was nothing else like it in the store. There was a giant bust of Satan, about a billion types of incense, and... No, nothing else remotely similar.
My interest eventually got fulfilled after deciding to buy one of their massage oils online. The scent I chose was called "Soaring Spirit." I liked the way some of the scents had spiritually inclined names like that. Maybe that's what got the aforementioned bookstore interested in carrying them.
The bottle I received was a great size, a plastic bottle about seven and a half inches tall holding 200 ml of oil. The label has a similar, vaguely exotic look as does much of this brand's product line, also the black KamaSutra logo.

The description of the ingredients on the back had me dying to rub this stuff into my often sore muscles, calling this oil an "invigorating blend of essential oils of orange, lemon, mint, geranium, ginger, fennel, and rose for a romantic massage." Well, I wouldn't call the scent romantic exactly. It makes me feel energized and uplifted more than anything else. The mint is definitely the most noticeable part of the oil, both to the nose and to my skin. Directly in the bottle, it smells almost entirely like mint and citrus but the floral and ginger aspects become apparent after the oil is out on your hands and body.

So, how does it perform as a massage oil? This is really my first time bothering to use one instead of just lotion so take my review with a grain of salt if you're a massage oil aficionado. I thought this stuff was great. The scent is quite lovely and the mintiness gives some temporary soothing to my skin. The consistency is as to be expected for an oil, not overly thick. It's like olive oil, not cooking oil. It absorbs fairly well which was important to me. It definitely leaves a mild coating on skin even after rubbing it in but it doesn't come off on clothes (Or the computer keyboard, I can attest to this as I write right now.). I also just got some spilled on my black lounge pants earlier and I can tell you that it doesn't stain black knitwear at least. I'd be careful with anything else though, just in case.
The oil is clear with a slight green tint.

The ingredients:
Soybean oil, grape seed oil, pistacia vera seed oil, C 12-15 alkyl benzoate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, sweet almond oil, fragrance, tocopheryl acetate, lecithin, citrol, citronellol, geranoil, limonene, linalool.

That's all I got for now, folks. I recently ordered the sampler pack with the other scents including Sweet Almond and I will be sure to write a review on that as well.

Well, Fuck

I LIED.
It's already 2013 and I didn't do another review yet. Well, I am serious this time about blogging on here more. Why?
You may have noticed that I took down my EdenFantasys affiliate links. Why? I've gotten tons of free stuff from them, why would I suddenly cut ties with them?
Well, a lot of crap has happened recently. I already had a lot of evidence that the store wasn't being honest and fair with its employees but since I wasn't really generating much income for them anyway, I figured I would support the review platform anyway. Well... It would take forever for me to explain what happened myself so just know that I'm pretty sure the company's future is cloudy at best and my conscience pings every time I log in. Points be damned, I gotta get me some less questionable morals again. I'll be around until I get blog links from everyone I like on there, et cetera.
I have way too many toys so I'll be reviewing without sex site affiliation for a while (I might still add Amazon links if no one minds.) until I start getting more traffic.
If you have more info on the current EF situation either to cheer me up (I hate losing both the Eden forums and now potentially Tumblr as well in the same week.) or confirm my fears, feel free to contact me at prettyboytoybox@gmail.com.
On the bright side, my reviews from now on will be NO. HOLDS. BARRED. I never was one to sugar coat but I always tried to acknowledge that not everyone's body is like mine with my stimulation needs in my Eden reviews but now I won't feel so bad if/when I go off on a rant about how awful a toy is. Oh, and I can swear like a sailor here. I don't think it was ever specifically banned on EF but I tried not to. This is hard for me.

Long Time No Blog

Hey anyone who is reading! I apologize for the complete lack of updates this summer. My life has been a bit crazy and I just had a big move, so my toys have all been in a not-so-pretty cardboard box hidden away from friends helping me move. I'm settled in now though, so expect the posts to start up again.

Quick Post: Sex Toy Society!

Oh hey. Just wanted to give a heads up about a pretty awesome database for sex toy reviews. I have a few sites I like to look for reviews on but I'm really liking the Sex Toy Society so far. They feature a weekly round-up for new reviews, product photos, and quick descriptions for products. What I really like is that it's not all toys specific to any particular manufacturer or store. It's easy enough to get reviews on a store's site sometimes, but it's hard to compare reviews of similar products of different brands if the store doesn't carry both of them. On this site, you can find toys from many different manufacturers with perspectives from all different sources. Another thing I like is that you can submit your own photos and reviews, which will help people find and read your reviews. Related to that is the fact that the site will also help you find new sex toy bloggers to follow.

Small and Humble Spur

I thought about what to do for my very first review here (Not my first toy review ever, just on here.) and had several ideas. I eventually got down to deciding between doing a few reviews in chronological order of the first few toys I ever bought and used, or doing a review of my favorite toy of all time for my first. The second won.
Ever since I set foot in one of the seedy sex shops in my city, I wanted to find something "better than the real thing." I was always under the impression that such a thing existed, due to people's jokes and speculation without ever actually using or touching a sex toy. You know, all the crap about vibrators and dildos replacing "real men." Well, only newly knowing how to find my g-spot and not yet having experienced how cool vibrations are, I decided I was going to focus on penetration toys first and if I could get something that also vibrated, cool.
Upon first entering the stores in my area, I was mostly greeted with penis-shaped hunks of jelly and hard, plastic vibrators. The first thing I noticed at both stores in my area was how huge everything remotely realistic was. I have small hands, a small pelvis, and small everything. I just can't take large toys no matter how nice and fun they look. I was deeply disappointed at the selection of smaller toys being limited to those aforementioned plastic vibrators. At the second store I went to, one of the workers let me feel up a large dildo made of cyberskin or one of its many cousins. I was pretty impressed at how much it felt like real skin, but again, the size was unapproachable for me. What I ended up buying from that store is a story for another day, but I also took away a burning desire for something made of skinlike material. That was the holy grail, I thought. That was what everyone talked about when they talked about how awesome dildos are, obviously!
Well, I've learned a lot since then and tried a lot of different materials. My tastes have broadened, but I never stopped looking for what I would think was the most realistic dildo ever. The size range stopped me even when I looked at online stores, and when I learned about the porousness of skinlike materials I was even more discouraged. Then, I found toys by Vixen Creations. They make toys in impressively large sizes as well, yes, but what I got excited over was a little dildo called the Spur.
The Spur is only around five and a half inches long including the base, and less than one and a quarter of an inch in diameter. That's pretty freakin' small for a realistic dildo, so that already makes it special in my book and something I would want. What makes it perfect? Oh, it just happens to be made of dual density silicone as well. What's that? Basically, it's silicone that has a squishy, soft layer on the outside and a fairly firm inner core. Other brands that make silicone toys have a similar lines, but quite honestly none of them match up in realisticness with Vixskin. It is the closest thing to a real erection that you will get out of silicone, and it can be cleaned so much easier and more thoroughly than anything like cyberskin. The ratio of flexibility to hardness is also superb with Vixskin. It bends like a real penis would, maybe the tiniest bit more.

If it was the ugliest toy I had ever seen, I would continue to love the Spur just because of the material, but that's the thing. It's not. It's the cutest realistic dildo I've ever seen. The design is realistic but not off-putting. It doesn't make me think uncanny valley or penis amputations. It's just, well, nice.
On top of all that, it comes in a really great storage tube that holds the Spur upright. To get the toy out you have to squeeze the clear tube while prying one of the black plastic caps off. I did not learn this in time and ended up slicing up the side of one of the end caps. Oh well.

Now as for performance, considering that this is what I consider my favorite toy, you may have guessed I already think the world of it. I most certainly do! I'm a fan of rough penetration, and with a toy this soft and squishy I can have it as rough as I like without doubling over in pain. It doesn't even take a lot of lube. G-spot stimulation? Eh, it gives me a bit, but I prefer it for reaching other spots that I don't even know the names of yet. It gives me the same sensations as PiV sex, and that's basically what I wanted the most out of a realistic dildo. I have other items in my collection for g-spot fun and whatnot. This just excels at being penis-like, and it's great for vaginal use, anal use (Because of the flared, wide base.), solo use, or use on a partner with or without a harness.
Silicone toys like this one can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water, a diluted bleach solution, by throwing them in the dishwasher (If the toy doesn't have a motor and isn't easily damaged.), or boiling it for a short amount of time.
The Spur and other Vixskin delights can be bought here.

Mission Statement? Maybe?

I could have made my first post on this blog an actual review or some entertaining and insightful introduction, and this post will probably lean towards the latter. I hope so anyway. I'm a transgender (FtM) college student in my twenties (And a rather femme dude at that, hence my blog title.) and sex toys are, well, almost a hobby of mine now considering how many I have and how much I know about them. I figured it was finally time to start my own blog, after reviewing with Eden Fantasys for months. The sphere of sex toy reviews, particularly for dildos and vibrators, is dominated heavily by cisgender (That is, not transgender.) women and that's totally fine, but sometimes it means that reviews are also heavily dominated by easily made assumptions. For example, the most common one being that all women have the same body parts. I don't imagine most people are thinking about the existence of trans* people while writing about a vibrator so I try to be forgiving but it gets annoying, especially when I see constant statements about what all women supposedly want for their bodies because even among cisgender women there is a wide variety of body types and preferences.
In this blog, I'm going to try to avoid blanket statements and misconceptions. Not just about gender, which is my pet peeve, but also about other common things like assumptions about the sexualities of those who use sex toys. I won't be using terms like "lady parts" and will instead be using scientific terms of dimunitives of such (Like "vag" and "clit."). Some people will be put off by this but I don't like to dance around what I really mean and I don't use other euphemisms that the trans* male community has floating around for my own bits so I will use what I use for myself.
On the note of making people uncomfortable though, if you see something you find glaringly and hideously offensive leave a comment and tell me! I doubt anyone will though, since I'm not exactly going to be talking about anything controversial on this blog.
I will post toy reviews, posts about gender and sex toys, recommendations, and content-related stories here, hopefully on a semi-regular basis.
I hope you enjoy my blog and thanks for reading.
